Audio playback from USB

Recent trip to Shenandoah National Park often had no reception. Would've been great to play and control music from USB stick.

Bumping this, as I feel like this should be an easy implementation with a ton of support.

I wish I could click the elevate button continuously on this topic for a week straight. Love my R1S, but this was a clear miss in the software. Can't stream anything when there is no signal.

Yes, please! I could not believe when I got my R1S over a year ago that one can't play tracks directly from a usb drive. It should also be possible to share a USB drive between gearguard video storage and music (.MP3 and .FLAC). The 2T storage brick I plugged into one of my middle compartment's USBs says it is getting so bored with recording the occasional gear guard video and wants to play some music. And I get equally bored with silence every time my phone's and my car's data connection drops out of range.

+1000000 ridiculous when sub $100 head units have had this for years. LossLESS audio from 24/96 FLAC and WAV at a minimum, some amount of DSD (surround sound) support would be a bonus. "Adventure" vehicles get out of 4G service pretty quickly. Heck, I lose FM almost immediately due to things called mountains and canyons.

Absolutely needed. I know of 3 EVs where this was a "major" factor in why they didn't by a Rivian.

Absolutely this. It's a minimum requirement in any $100 automotive music player. And especially since Rivian has made such a big deal of the sound system (when I did my first mile drive, the Rivian rep pointed out the high quality sound system). Sure, I can start an album playing on my phone, and send it via BlueTooth (not high quality) to the Rivian, but then when that albums ends, or if I want to hear something else, I have to pull over to change it. P.S. LTE signals aren't continuous throughout the US. There are a lot of places where relying on LTE or on FM signals just doesn't work.

FYI for a USB petition also. https://www.change.org/u/me

Agree! It seems odd that there is no ability whatsoever to play one's personal music collection.
