Rivian Software Wishlist

Similar to tesla, have the garage signal sent when arriving or leaving a location with a notification chime as an option.

Use the windshield Wiper rain detection to automatically close open windows if it starts to rain.

One feature I miss from Tesla: The app was integrated with my calendar and could be displayed in the vehicle. If I selected a calendar appointment that included a location, it would automatically set that address in the vehicle navigation system.

I feel like an area where Rivian could provide a differentiator to CarPlay is by making an amazing calendar app. One of the features I miss the most from CarPlay is the ability to switch to maps app and it to suggest the address to my next calendar appointment. I could see an amazing native calendar app that included this feature along with others. I do a lot of business from my car and I live in my calendar. I could see some great integrated features giving them a unique feature set.

As someone who uses the R1 for work and is constantly driving to and from places during the day, it would be nice to have the maps function know where I'm going next like my Tesla does. In my Tesla, it knows where I'm headed based on the next event in my phone's calendar and that route is already plugged into the nav system when I open the car door. Believe it or not, this is a huge time saver. Then again, the R1's nav system is so unreliable, I have to use my phone's nav to cross check the route and time but at least if it were up in the R1, I could have a general idea of which direction I needed to start driving next.

It would be fantastic to know how much charge there is on our Rivian camp speaker. It’s a fantastic speaker, but unfortunately there have been a number of owners commenting about finding their camp speaker’s battery dead when they needed it. I use it weekly during surgeries but have to make sure it’s locked in the dock to ensure it charges while parked. Also, I find that erasing it from my phone’s Bluetooth avoids unwanted connection while parked at home. Love this speaker though!

Very annoying that my R1T always defaults to my wife’s phone when we’re riding together, even tho I am 100% the driver. I would prefer to set priorities for phone keys/BT devices for when more than one is detected.

I believe an upcoming release is going to allow some amount of customization to the access list that slides out from the left when you park. I would like to be able to unlock the speaker (but also posted an ask to be able to unlock when not in park)

When two of us take the Rivian together I usually drive but my partner drives when alone. His phone nearly always unlocks the car and his seat adjustments / profile is selected when I open the door. I wish when 2+ phones are connected to the car after it is unlocked and after opening the door, have a default profile that’s set in settings be selected (mine) instead of the winner of who unlocked the car first (his).

Enable V2H (Vehicle to Home) bi-directional charging capability over from the CCS port. And verify to current R1 owners this will work with their vehicles. This is part of the current CCS spec ISO 15118-20:2022 Road vehicles — Vehicle to grid communication interface — Part 20: 2nd generation network layer and application layer requirements https://www.iso.org/standard/77845.html This is a major environmental win for owners to be able to skip having large home backup batteries and aligns with Rivian's mission. It's also a huge win for owners to save money by reusing batteries that are in short supply and environmentally damaging to mine the materials for.
