Rivian Software Wishlist

Fast forward or rewind when listening to podcasts I listen to a lot of podcasts in my Rivian and my phone allows me to fast forward by 30 seconds and rewind by 15 seconds. This is wonderful for skipping commercials and getting back to something that was missed. Please add this feature to the Rivian console.

We have the ability to change the name of our car, but then we can't ask the car to do anything - it's almost like Rivian named ALL cars "Alexa". I tried to use voice commands to change the Alexa wake word but she replied that the wake word couldn't be change this device. I'd like to change "Alexa" to "Rosey" (the name of our R1S).

Seems like it could be one of the rotating square screens that now display tire pressure, audio, map, etc. The current location is especially hard to view when sun hits it.

Instantly, when I turn on my Porsche Cayenne, I can redial from recent calls and also immediately hear the last SiriusXM station. On my Gen2 R1T, it takes 10-30 seconds at least for these to work.

The clock is relatively small and far away from the driver for a quick look. It would be nice to have it on the screen behind the steering wheel.

It seems the Nav App choose the zoom level depending on where I am. The issue is, street names are not shown at all zoom levels. Close to home, I see street names. Farther away, it zooms out to the point where the street names are no longer shown. But that is exactly when I want to see the street names. The App allows me to zoom in manually (to see street names), but then my car icon goes offscreen as I drive; until I 'recenter'. The App should allow the car icon to stay centered if I zoom in see street names.

With our terrible roads in california. Hit a pothole recently and is jarring. This should be a detectable event. Have car detect this and alert other rivians after me of the bad road, pothole or bad lanes.

Can you please allow the vehicle to continue to kneel when a door opens? I notice that is is constantly interrupted by someone opening a door. The is bothersome because its a big jump down if the car does not lower. This is not the case if "low" is selected as ride height when in park and someone opens the door. In this scenario, the vehicle continues to lower and does not pause. At a minimum, give the option to pause/not pause kneeling when door opens.

I just got back from a week-long vacation. Before driving down to Los Angeles (where our flight was departing from), we decided not to leave the Rivian in an airport parking garage and instead take my wife's ICE car (I am still new to EV's, my Rivian, as well as getting acquainted with everything that needs to be shut down in order to minimize the much-publicized vampire battery drain). This got me thinking... being in mobile software development myself, it would be SUPER easy and convenient for Rivian to simply create an "Airport Mode" for the vehicles that could simply be toggled on and off via the mobile app. I mean, I don't know about everyone here... but when I am traveling (especially internationally), going through a punch list of accessories that need to be manually turned off in my vehicle is the last thing on my mind. I am usually far more worried about getting to the airport on time, having all my travel documents in order... having my kids and family sorted... etc. The thought of forgetting to toggle off a setting and coming back to a bricked vehicle was a deal breaker for me. I know that some garages have chargers, etc... but I am not yet familiar with dealing with all that, and it was simply not going to happen prior to this trip. Anyhow, an ideal UX would be not forcing owners to learn all of the potential electrical parasites that could diminish range during a 1-2 week trip and forcing them to make sure everything is shut down prior to leaving the vehicle... but instead to have the knowledgable team at Rivian identify those, and simply toggle them all on/off with a single button in the mobile app. This way, even if frazzed and weary traveler forgets to turn off the offending services, they could easily do this remotely (even in another country if need be).

It would be safer and more convenient to have a charging status indicator on the status bar at the top of the screen instead of having to look down at the phone. If a phone is connected via Bluetooth it could also show the current charge level.
