cabin overheat protection
planned

Tesla has the feature of cabin overheat protection - it will make sure the cabin temp does not go over your specified temp (starting @ 99 degrees and going to 120). This makes sure that you also don't get in the car with really high temps. I often forget to turn on the AC before getting in the car and have had the cabin be over 140 degrees. Would love for the Rivian to keep itself cool like my Tesla does

"Climate Hold" is on the roadmap for 2025

MS Climate Hold is NOT the same as this feature. This isn't about holding any specific temperature, it's about ensuring the cabin doesn't get too hot during the summer.
So, it's not like the vehicle should kick on the heater to make the cabin 100 degrees haha. But it
should
kick on the A/C to ensure it doesn't get too much hotter than that. Which is categorically different from Climate Hold.William Bembry
I actually saw that mine kicked on the other day to bring the temps down when it detected it was 120 inside. I can't recall if it was charging at the time. I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

HVAC "Hold"/"Keep" mode

Similar to Tesla works be great.
I frequently have to step out of the truck to do an errand while my wife stays in with the sleeping baby.
As soon as I walk away the HVAC shuts off. If I use pet mode it limits how cold and strong I can set it - warmer than my wife finds comfortable.
I would like to be able to set the HVAC to keep the current settings while I step away for a short period.
Maybe some reasonable limit like 15 mins, or have that as a config option.

This would be an awesome OPTIONAL feature.
