Many vehicles have the ability to trigger Siri commands, via a dedicated button on the steering wheel.
It’s super convenient (in lieu of CarPlay) for initiating a phone call, or playing a song via Apple Music over Bluetooth, etc..

As part of UX overhaul some of the reveal reviewers found mention of Siri or Google Assistant integration to replace Alexa

Trevor Yes! Not only would I love the phone assistant passthrough, I'd love to replace Alexa with Google Assistant as well!

My 2015 honda civic has this feature.. it's VERY useful - I couldn't believe the R1 didn't have it considered how much better it is tech wise. My phone is often in my pocket, and Apple disables the "Siri" voice activation when it's covered.
It could potentially be mapped to long-press on the right wheel - I could be wrong, but I don't think that's mapped to anything right now.

Brandon Kelly A workaround is just saying "Hey Siri" if your iPhone is connected via Bluetooth

Jose Castillo: True, but doesn’t work so well when your phone is in your pocket
